The 2018 Daytime Emmys will be handed out Sunday — and fans of soap operas and other daytime television programs are gearing up to see who will take home the night’s biggest awards.

Comedian and “The Talk” TV personality Sheryl Underwood will host the award ceremony, and “General Hospital” star Carolyn Hennesy will be hosting the red carpet pre-show, which airs live on all of the Daytime Emmys’ social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and its website) as well as on KNEKT’s digital television network.

The red carpet live stream will begin at 5 p.m. ET. and the ceremony follows at 8 p.m.

The show itself will be streamed to Facebook, Twitter, Periscope and YouTube, as well as to KNEKT Television. Although viewers wishing to get a traditional television experience can stream through KNEKT, the Daytime Emmys will not be shown on network TV, as has been the case for the last few years.

Daytime Emmys will be presented by stars including Vivica A. Fox, Mario Lopez and Kellie Pickler.

The Daytime Emmys recognize outstanding achievement in all areas of daytime television, with awards going to individuals and programs that aired between 2 a.m. and 6 p.m. during the 2017 calendar year.

The Daytime Creative Arts Emmys were held Friday night and attended by stars including Vanessa Lachey, Dove Cameron and Raven Symone.

The 45th Daytime Emmy Awards will bestow lifetime achievement honors on two pairs of entertainment mainstays in "Days of Our Lives" actors Bill Hayes and Susan Seaforth Hayes, and children's television producers Sid and Marty Krofft.

The Krofft brothers will be celebrated at the 45th Daytime Creative Arts Emmy Awards, which takes place on Friday, April 27th, while the Hayes will be celebrated on Sunday at the 45th Daytime Emmy Awards. Both presentations will take place at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium.

Bill and Susan Seaforth Hayes, who play Doug Williams and Julie Olson Williams on "Days of Our Lives," have been married in real life since 1974. Susan originated her character in 1968, while Bill came aboard in 1970. They were an early entertainment power couple, appearing together on the Jan. 12, 1976 cover of Time magazine — the only time daytime actors have appeared on the cover.

Meanwhile, Sid and Marty Krofft made their television debut in 1969 with the NBC series "H.R. Pufnstuf," which centered on the magical adventures of a boy, a talking flute and a 6-foot dragon. It only got weirder from there as they produced hit after hit in the children’s programming sphere with "Lidsville," "Sigmund and the Sea Monsters," "The Bugaloos" and "Electra Woman & Dyna Girl," to name a few. They also put together popular variety series like "Donny & Marie" and "Barbara Mandrell & the Mandrell Sisters.” Sid and Marty are still producing shows. They are currently working on a remake of their hit “The Bugaloos” and an original science series starring “The Big Bang Theory's” Mayim Bialik called “Mayim's WonderLab.”

Hosted by Mario Lopez and Sheryl Underwood, the Daytime Emmy Awards will be available to stream live Sunday at 5 p.m. on the official Emmy Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts, as well as the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences’
